{I looked to the mountains, to the sky, to the stars, to the wild glory of it all. And to me it said "Shut Up"}
(Pt. I)
Here I grew fangs, here I grew fur
Wild like a monster I ran, out thru the mountains
Into the trees, far from myself
Here I began, I dreamed of the world
I dreamed of the world, I dreamed of the lost light and all of those girls
The lips of lovers that I'll never see
like a blood red moon cast on a dream
Here I spoke hours, I danced with the ghosts
I bled out the blood that I needed most
But here I buried my body, covered in shame
And there I lay, out in the sun, dancing for the rain
Oh how it came, oh how it fell, never a heaven and never a hell
I heard the world change in my head, but oh...
"Shut up" the Mountain God said
(Pt. II)
"Shut up" the Mountain God said,
"Stand in the silence. Begone with your head.
All that you clutch and you hold, some day will fade, be dust and be bones."
"Shut up" the Mountain God said,
"All that you are now is nothing instead. Be where you are for the signs, all that you have is moments in time"
"Shut up" the Mountain God said,
"Leave it alone, live here instead. Go find a lover, stand in the light, crawl thru the Emptiness, love what you love and be gone."

Crutch has been one of the most influential albums of my teenage years. I discovered the band shortly after this album's release, and I have loved it ever since. It broke my heart when KAQOTL broke up, and it kinda makes this album even more special in a way. Crutch is easily one of my favorite albums of all time. jofm
